When should varicose veins be referred instead?
Deep vein involvement, ulceration that is not healing, sudden swelling with pain, or signs of deep vein thrombosis need vascular assessment rather than Ayurvedic therapy alone. Dr. Sumukhi will refer you if examination indicates it.
Ayurvedic therapy works well for symptom relief and for early to moderate varicosity. It is not a substitute for vascular surgery in advanced disease, and presenting it as one would not be honest.
Common questions
Ayurvedic treatment typically improves heaviness, aching, cramping and swelling, and can reduce prominence. Complete disappearance of established varicosities is not a realistic promise from any conservative treatment.
