Kshara Sutra, in one paragraph
A thread coated in medicated alkali is passed through the fistula tract and changed once a week. It cuts through the tract at about half a millimetre a day while the tissue behind it heals shut. The sphincter is never severed in a single cut, which is why the method is chosen for high, branching and previously operated tracts.

She works principally with Kshara Sutra and Kshara Karma, the para-surgical techniques described by Sushruta, and has published two first-author case reports on Ayurvedic wound healing.
